Trash & RecyclingKnowing the old adage “there is power in numbers” to be true, Mayors Joseph Sullivan of Braintree, Thomas Koch of Quincy, and Susan Kay of Weymouth joined together to seek one contract for curbside pickup of solid waste and recyclables in the three communities. In June 2008, Braintree, Quincy, and Weymouth signed a contract with Capitol Waste. The collective buying power of this new tri-town alliance has allowed the communities to see real savings while implementing Single Stream Recycling. With Single Stream Recycling, you no longer have to separate your recyclables. Now you can combine all of your allowable recyclable products in one container. You will need to apply a town supplied recycling sticker to the container in order to identify it. Stickers are available at the Town Hall as well as the Recycling Drop-Off Center across from the T. You may also use your current recycling bin.
