Braintree Recycling: Special Collection & E-Waste

Discarded Cell PhonesElectronic Waste is a growing issue, and residents should be aware of the impact electronic products have on our environment. For example, Cathode Ray Tubes (CRTs) contain lead, are found in TVs and monitors, and are prohibited from normal trash collection.
The Town sponsors events each year. TVs, computers/monitors, electronics, dehumidifiers, ACs, etc. are being collected by The Friends of the Library at the Household Hazardous Waste events at the Recycling Center on Ivory Street. Next event: September 26, 2015. 9 AM - Noon. Nominal charges apply. Proceeds go to the library.

Appliances & Metal Items - To arrange for pickup, call Sunrise Scavenger at least 48 hours prior to your trash day @ 617-361-8000. If calling after office hours, leave your address, inclusive of "Braintree" & state the day of the week that your trash is collected & what items(s) you are putting out for pickup.

TV’s/Small Appliances
These items may be disposed of for a small fee at the Town’s Household Hazardous Waste events that are held twice a year. The remaining proceeds go to the Library (after the disposal costs have been paid).
The next drop-off collection is Saturday, September 26. Gates open at 9AM and close at Noon. The location is the Town’s Recycling Center, 257 Ivory Street (across from the “T’).

Best Buy/Braintree accepts TV’s and three small appliances per day at no charge-year round. Old TV’s cannot be larger than 32” screens. Flat screens can be up to 60”.
