The Town Council is the Town’s legislative branch of government. It is comprised of nine Council Members of which, three are elected as Councilors-at-Large and six are elected as District Councilors. Members are elected every two years. The Council passes ordinances on a broad range of issues and has the power to approve or disapprove the Mayor’s budget appropriations.
The Council typically meets on the first and third Tuesday each month beginning at 7:30 PM. The Town Council "Meeting Schedule" link will direct you to the approved meeting schedule for upcoming Council meetings. If you would like to view and/or print a copy of Council meeting agenda's, meeting documents or approved Council meeting minutes, click on the "Agendas & Minutes" link. Council Meeting Agenda’s and meeting documents will be posted by 4:00PM the Friday before each Council meeting and can be accessed by clicking the "Agendas & Minutes" link. Town Council links can be found on the upper left section of the Town Council Home Page. If you would like to have the Town Council Agenda directly sent to you before each meeting, email the Clerk of the Council at jmcasey@braintreeMA.gov and you will be placed on the “Agenda” email distribution list.
The Town Council Office is located on the first floor of Town Hall and is open Monday through Friday, 8:30a.m. to 4:30p.m.
Council meetings are held in the Horace T. Cahill Auditorium; first floor of Town Hall. The public is invited and encouraged to attend Council meetings. Braintree Town Hall is handicap accessible.

The Braintree Town Council consists of three "At-Large" Councilors; who represent you town-wide and are available to assist you across all Precincts. In addition, there are six "District" Councilors; who provide representation within their elected district and are available to assist residents within their Districts.

Enter your address in the appropriate boxes as indicated. Click "Show My Results" and it will reply back with your Precinct/District number.
