Good afternoon, this is Mayor Erin Joyce with another important snow update for Monday. We are expecting a few more inches of snow throughout the day, pushing total snow accumulations near 18 inches–our roads are looking good, but we have a lot of work to do on sidewalks and crosswalks throughout town. Snow banks are high, so we ask residents to exercise caution when pulling out of side streets and driveways.
Due to the significant amount of snow removal still required at all our school buildings–Braintree Public Schools will be closed Tuesday January 27th. Please check BPS and Town Socials for updates regarding evening activities.
We are also extending the Parking Ban until snow operations have ceased–please keep your vehicles off the street until further notice as we will continue towing vehicles in violation until the ban is lifted. As a reminder, please do not clear snow into the sidewalk or the street as you dig out. Please also help out our Fire Department by clearing hydrants near your home, every second matters in the event of a house fire. Thank you for all your support during this weekends storm.
