Local Special Election
A special election will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2020 to vote on four proposed debt exclusion questions. All polling locations will open at 7:00am and will close at 8:00pm.
Absentee Voting
Absentee ballots are now available at the Town Clerk’s Office for voters meeting eligibility requirements.
Eligibility Requirements
In order to be eligible to vote by absentee ballot in Massachusetts, a voter must be prevented from voting at their polling place on Election Day, due to:
- Absence from the voter’s city or town on Election Day; or
- Physical disability; or
- Religious belief
Absentee voting can be conducted in person during normal business hours at Braintree Town Hall – Town Clerk’s Office; up until Friday, March 27, 2020 at noon. Or, click on the link below and you will be redirected to the Secretary of State – Election Division website and can obtain an absentee ballot application form. Forms can be dropped off in person, by mail (Office of the Town Clerk, One JFK Memorial Drive, Braintree, MA 02184) or by email at townclerk@braintreema.gov. Absentee voters not voting in person are required to have their absentee ballot mailed to them.
