[ARCHIVED] Braintree Police Involved Shooting - May 3, 2020 Update

The 59-year old resident of Braintree’s Logan Park apartment complex wounded in a confrontation with Braintree Police last night is currently recovering at the South Shore Hospital.

Stephen Rizzo is expected to be arraigned as soon as medically and logistically possible on several charges relative to his alleged actions prior to and during the altercation with Braintree Police.

Stephen Rizzo is expected to be arraigned on one count of Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon (civilian victim) and multiple counts of Assault with a Dangerous Weapon.

The Norfolk District Attorney’s Office will be in contact with officials at the Quincy District Court arraigning the logistics of Stephen Rizzo’s arraignment on the Braintree charges. The officer-involved shooting remains under investigation by State Police attached to Norfolk District Attorney Michael W. Morrissey’s Office. Additional narrative information on the incident is likely to be articulated during the arraignment.

The Norfolk District Attorney’s Office hopes to provide details on the arraignment when they are finalized by court officials.
