[ARCHIVED] Reopening Town Buildings

Town of Braintree Seal

Braintree’s Town buildings will re-open for public business on Wednesday, July 8, 2020. This includes Braintree Town Hall (1 JFK Memorial Drive), Department of Public Works Offices (85 Quincy Ave), Recreation and Community Events Department, Trash/Recycling Offices (74 Pond Street), and the Braintree Police Station Records Department (282 Union Street).

“As the number of new Coronavirus cases in Braintree and around the state continue to trend down, I feel that we can now safely reopen Town buildings. My top priority is to protect the health and safety of employees and the public as we begin our reopening on Wednesday,” said Mayor Kokoros. “We will implement safety standards that have been provided by the state in all our Town buildings and all employees will receive social distancing and hygiene training to ensure a safe working environment.”

Proper signage has been installed in all Town buildings and facilities detailing the Mandatory Workplace Safety Standards. Anyone entering Town buildings will be required to wear a face covering. Where appropriate the town has installed temporary walls and/or plexi glass at least six feet in height to ensure social distancing is maintained between residents and town employees when conducting business.

In addition, in order to comply with contract tracing requirements all members of the public will need to sign in to create a record of who was in a town building at any given time. The sign in list will only be used for the purpose of contact tracing.

The hours of operation for Town Hall are Monday, Wednesday, Thursday 8:30am to 4:30pm, Tuesday, 8:30am to 7:00pm and Friday, 8:30am to 1:00pm.
