Earlier today the Town of Braintree was notified by Enbridge of the following actions that will take place at the Weymouth Compressor Station next week.

On Monday and Tuesday of next week, September 21st through September 27th, there is the potential necessity for some activities to run past 7 PM to complete testing commenced earlier in the day and reduce pressure to proper shutdown levels prior to concluding commissioning activities for the night. In addition, as part of the commissioning process, the turbine is scheduled to start up on September 23rd for a 100-hour run, which involves operating the unit for approximately 100 hours with intermittent stops as needed for inspection. Therefore, starting September 23rd and extending through Sunday, September 27th, commissioning activities will occur up to 254 hours per day.

As part of the ongoing commissioning work at the Weymouth Compressor Station, venting will occur between September 21st and September 27th. The venting will be associated with the following activities:

  • Valve Installation at the Weymouth M&R Station
  • Emergency shutdown (ESD) system verification
