Mayor Charles C. Kokoros is pleased to share with the community that Royal Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is the first long-term health care facility in Braintree to receive and administer the COVID-19 vaccine to it residents and employees. As of December 30, 2020, a total of 118 residents and 81 staff members have received the vaccine.
“This is an incredibly exciting time for our residents and staff members in our long-term health care facilities,” said Mayor Kokoros. “After everything they have endured throughout the duration of the pandemic, they deserve to be the first people to receive the vaccine and I am extremely grateful to see this come to fruition.”
CVS provided 3 pharmacists and 4 technicians to assist in giving out the vaccines which began on Monday, December 28, 2020. All residents and staff members who received the vaccine will receive the second dose 28 days after receiving the first dose.
