Mayor Charles C. Kokoros is excited to announce the Town of Braintree will honor the late Nelson Chin by holding “Nelson’s Day” a family fun day at French’s Common next to Braintree Town Hall. The event will take place on Saturday, September 25th from 1pm-4pm. Nelson Chin passed away on December 18, 2020 having served as the town’s director of recreation for more than eight years.
“This is such a great way to honor Nelson’s legacy,” said Mayor Charles Kokoros. “He was a staunch supporter of all Braintree’s youth organizations and could always be seen at every community event in town. Nelson Chin day pays tribute to everything Nelson did for our community.”
Residents of all ages are welcome to attend this fun event. The afternoon will include games, prizes, inflatable bounce houses, and food and drinks will be provided. Any resident with questions is welcome to contact the recreation office at 781-794-8901. In the event of rain “Nelson’s Day” will be held the following afternoon, Sunday, September 26th.
