On Thursday, January 13th Mayor Charles C. Kokoros will honor former town councilor Henry “Hank” Joyce with the Town of Braintree Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Peacemaker Award.
“Hank is a true statesman and he has done so much for our community both as an elected official and as a community volunteer that make him most deserving of being this year’s recipient,” said Mayor Kokoros. “It is my honor to recognize Hank for his continued service to Braintree and to present him with the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Peacemaker Award.”
In addition to his service as the Town Councilor for District Four (2008-2014) Mr. Joyce is a past member of the Braintree Parks Commission. He has been an active member of the Knights of Columbus, Braintree Rotary Club, and currently serves at chairman of the Braintree elder affairs advisory board. In addition to these organizations and causes Mr. Joyce has, for many decades, been a director of the Braintree Babe Ruth youth baseball league, including serving several terms as league President.
The ceremony in honor of Mr. Joyce will be held at 6:30pm on Thursday, January 13th at Braintree Town Hall in Cahill Auditorium. Light refreshments will be served at the conclusion of the ceremony.
