Town Seal with Town Hall

Please be aware that Algonquin Gas Transmission, LLC (“Algonquin”) will be conducting maintenance activities which will require controlled venting of natural gas at the Weymouth Compressor Station located at the Weymouth Compressor Station, 54 Bridge Street, North Weymouth, Massachusetts. The maintenance activities will be conducted in accordance with applicable regulations, and with public health and safety as a priority. The controlled venting may occur intermittently between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. from Friday, May 5, 2023 through Saturday, May 12, 2023. Algonquin will make every effort to minimize the volume of gas vented by using recompression equipment to safely divert gas into another section of Algonquin’s system. The natural gas which is vented will naturally dissipate. Company representatives will be on site during this work. There is no cause for concern and there will be no danger to persons or property in the area. Please be advised that local police, fire, and municipal officials in Weymouth, Braintree, Quincy and Hingham have been notified of the operation. In addition, local fire and police officials will also be notified shortly before and at the conclusion of the venting activity. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call Algonquin’s Westwood office at 1-888-293-7867 between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Calls may also be directed to the Enbridge Gas Control 24 hour call line at 1-800-726-8383.
