Parking Ban

Town of Braintree News Posted on February 22, 2026

Good afternoon this is Mayor Erin Joyce calling with several important storm updates for Sunday February 22nd. As a region we are preparing for a very impactful winter storm and blizzard beginning late Sunday evening and lasting throughout the day Monday. We encourage residents to please stay home if you are able so that roads are clear for emergency personnel to operate and for our DPW crews to work on snow removal.

Beginning today Sunday at 3pm I am enacting a parking ban, all vehicles will need to be off the street until snow removal operations have ceased. Please move your vehicles into your driveway or into another off street parking area. The Town has designated lots that will be made accessible for your use and these lots will be monitored throughout the storm event. The town will be actively towing during this parking ban - to report vehicles on the street please call the non emergency police line at 781-794-8601.

We are also announcing that Braintree Public Schools and all non-essential town buildings will be closed tomorrow Monday February 23rd. Trash pick up will also be delayed by one day. Please stay safe by staying off the roads, staying inside and checking in on neighbors who may need assistance. We know this is going to be a major snow event and the Town is well prepared – lets make sure you are too. Thank you.
