Overview

The Town Council is the Town’s legislative branch of government. It is comprised of nine Council Members of which, three are elected as Councilors-at-Large and six are elected as District Councilors. Members are elected every two years. The Council passes ordinances on a broad range of issues and has the power to approve or disapprove the Mayor’s budget appropriations.

Council Meeting Agenda’s and meeting documents will be posted by 4 p.m. the Friday before each Council meeting and can be accessed in the Agenda Center. If you would like to have the Town Council Agenda directly sent to you before each meeting, email the Clerk of the Council and you will be placed on the "Agenda" email distribution list.

Town Council Structure

The Braintree Town Council consists of three "At-Large" Councilors; who represent you town-wide and are available to assist you across all Precincts. In addition, there are six "District" Councilors; who provide representation within their elected district and are available to assist residents within their Districts.
