The Town of Braintree has partnered with the US Census Bureau to support the upcoming 2020 census. As their partner, we’ll be working to ensure that the residents of Braintree are accurately represented. Data from the census helps inform planning efforts for important community resources such as our schools and transportation, as well as how federal dollars are distributed amongst state and local governments.
The Town will be launching a Complete Count Committee to increase awareness and motivate residents to respond to the 2020 census. The Town is seeking volunteers to serve on this committee with connections to local stakeholder groups, such as faith-based organizations, youth programs, and non-English speaking groups. If you or somebody you know would be interested in volunteering for this committee please contact the Mayor’s Office at 781-794-8100 or visit www.braintreema.gov/2020census to learn more.
Additionally, the U.S. Census Bureau is currently hiring for temporary positions for the 2020 census in Braintree. The largest number of positions available are for census takers. By working for the Census Bureau, you can help them reach their goal for the 2020 Census to ensure everyone is counted. If you’re interested, please visit the Census Bureau job site to apply and learn more at 2020census.gov/jobs.
