Late last week I received information that I may have been exposed to COVID-19. In consultation with our public health nurses, I immediately took all necessary precautions to prevent exposure to those around me. On Friday, June 5, 2020, I received the results of the test and learned that I was positive for COVID-19. While I have experienced symptoms, I am recovering and continuing to work from home. I look forward to returning to Town Hall once I have made a full recovery. The Health Department performed contact tracing and scheduled testing for those determined to have been in close contact. These individuals have tested negative for the virus, but continue to follow all applicable CDC and DPH guidelines to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
This is a serious illness as I now know firsthand. The only way we can prevent the spread is by practicing social distancing, wearing masks and keeping our hands clean and we must continue “coming together by staying apart” to protect ourselves and those around us. Please stay vigilant as we reopen our businesses and rejoin our community for social activities. I want you to remain COVID-19 free.
Thank you and stay safe.
