Transcript of the Mayor's message:

"Good evening, this is Mayor Charles Kokoros –

Additionally, the Recreation Department is still accepting employment applications for summer employment for the 2021 season. At the compost site you can dispose of leaves, branches, grass clippings and other yard waste. If you have any questions regarding the Compost Site, please contact our Highway Department at 781-794-8950.

On Thursday, April 8th at the Braintree Elder Affairs located at 71 Cleveland Ave we will be holding a Veterans Food Giveaway for Veterans and active service members. This event will be held from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm. For more information please contact our Braintree Veterans Office at 781-794-8217.

The 2021 dog licensing period will run from April 1st until June 30th. All renewal requests can either be made in person at the Town Clerk’s Office, by mail or online at braintreema.gov. If you have any questions about obtaining your dog license, please contact the Town Clerk’s Office at 781-794-8240.

Over the past few months with the assistance of Brewster Ambulance, we have been able to successfully administer nearly 1700 COVID-19 vaccines to Braintree residents and first responders at Town Hall. By the end of April, we will have finished all of our second doses for the vaccination clinics previously held. I am incredibly proud of all the work that went into making our Vaccine Clinics a great success. While we continue to see the number of positive COVID-19 cases go down, I would ask that we remain vigilant and continue to listen to the advisories and guidelines issued by our local and State Health Departments.

The Braintree High School returned to a normal pre pandemic schedule of 5 full days a week of in person learning on March 15th and we are excited to have grades K through 8 back to pre- pandemic scheduling of 5 days a week of full in person learning on April 5th

This past year has presented our town with unprecedented challenges.  We have worked together to overcome these challenges and to become an even stronger community. I look forward to the days, weeks and months ahead as we continue to keep our community safe while moving into the final phases of reopening. We will continue to show our strength and resilience even through the most difficult times and we will continue to make a better Braintree together.

To all that celebrate I would like to wish you a Happy Easter.

Thank you and goodnight."
