The Town of Braintree will be holding a food drive this Saturday, November 6th from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon at Town Hall. Donations will be made through a drive up and drop off system. All donations will be given to the Marge Crispin Center for distribution. The Marge Crispin Center is in need of toilet paper, dry stuffing mix, cranberry sauce, turkey gravy and all non-perishable food items. Please check the expiration date on food items you plan on donating.
Additionally, in honor of Veterans Day, next week the Town of Braintree will be hosting various veteran events throughout the week to recognize and thank our veterans for their service. On Monday, November 8th at 1:00 pm, there will be a movie at the Elder Affairs/Veterans building for our veterans. On Tuesday, November 9th from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm we will provide a grab and go turkey dinner for all veterans at the Elder Affairs/Veterans building parking lot located at 71 Cleveland Ave.
All veterans and residents are invited to the Town’s Veterans Day Ceremony on Thursday, November 11th. Coffee and donuts will be available at 9:30 am. Our program will begin at 10:30 am at Town Hall in Cahill Auditorium. At the conclusion of the ceremony, lunch will be provided by Fasano’s Catering. On Friday, November 12th at 10:00 am we will be holding a Veterans Day breakfast for our veterans at the Elder Affairs/Veterans building.
