The Town Clerk is responsible for recording the vital events that occur in the Town of Braintree. Vital events include births, deaths, and marriages. Marriage licenses and certified copies of vital records are issued by the Town Clerk’s office. The Town census is compiled in this office and is reflected in the Resident Book.
The Town Clerk’s office licenses dogs; issues business certificates, raffle permits; is the keeper of various records from all Town departments and serves as the Chairperson of the Board of Licensing Commissioners and is the Chief Records Officer.
