(Town Council Orders 21-044 and 22-021)
The Town of Braintree, working with the Woods Hole Group, completed a flood control and shore stabilization project for Watson Park, which is in continued danger of erosion and flooding dues to its location on the bank of the Fore River. Regulatory requirements limit feasible remediation options, such as rip-rap bank armoring, or an additional seawall; therefore, the projest reestablished a natural, vegetated salt marsh buffer, Park-side rain gardens, and a relocated raised earthen-berm walking trail, that would provide enhanced flood-control for the foreseeable future.
