Curbside Yard Waste Pickups - Fall 2025 Schedule

The Fall 2025 Curbside Yard Waste collections will be on your regular collection day during the weeks of October 20 & 27 and through the month of November.  Only open top containers or paper bags are allowed.  Leaves, grass, brush, branches under 1" are allowed.  NO plastic bags, root balls, rocks or dirt.

Plain Street Compost Site Services (Sticker Required)

Location:  225 Plain Street Braintree, MA 02184 (781) 794-8950

The leaf compost site hours are Wednesday to Sunday, 7:15 AM-2:45 PM. The site is closed to residents on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Holidays. The site is open to contractors on Mondays and Tuesdays, only when staffing permits. 

Winter Hours:

The leaf compost site will be closing Friday, 1/30/26, as it transitions to Winter staffing hours. Effective Monday, 2/2/26, when possible and weather permitting, the site will be open Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 2 PM, and closed on the weekends until April.

Acceptable Items at Compost Site:

  • Leaves, grass, Christmas trees, brush, branches, limbs, and shrubs

Non-Acceptable Items at Compost Site:

  • No plastic bags
  • No root balls
  • No Rocks
  • No Dirt

Compost Bin Purchases

Compost Bin Purchases – Available to Braintree Residents Only -   Cost is $60.

Compost bins can be purchased at Treasurer/Collector’s Office at 1 JFK Memorial Drive or at the Water/Sewer Office at 85 Quincy Ave , Braintree, MA 02184.  Once your request is processed, the Compost Bin will be delivered to your residence.  Spare parts are not available.
