The Spring 2023 Curbside Yard Waste collection will be on your regular collection day during the weeks April 17 & 24, May 1, 8, 15, 22, 2023.

The Fall 2023 Curbside Yard Waste collection will be on your regular collection day during the weeks of October 23 & 30, November 6, 13, 20, 27, 2023.  

Plain Street Compost Site Services (Sticker Required)

***UPDATE***

The leaf compost site will resume its normal operating schedule Saturday April 1st.  It will be open Saturday and Sunday, April 1st and April 2nd, closed Monday and Tuesday and then open it’s normal schedule of Wednesday to Sunday, 7:15 AM – 2:45 PM starting Wednesday April 5th.  The site will be closed Sunday April 9th for the Easter Holiday.  The sight is closed to residents Mondays, Tuesdays, and Holidays.  

April 5, 2023 through January 31, 2024 hours are Wednesday to Sunday 7:15am-2:45pm. (Closed on Holidays)  Winter Hours (February & March) Same schedule…WEATHER PERMITTING

Acceptable Items at Compost Site:

  • Leaves, grass, Christmas trees, brush, branches, limbs, and shrubs

Non-Acceptable Items at Compost Site:

  • No plastic bags
  • No root balls
  • No Rocks
  • No Dirt

Compost Bin Purchases

Compost Bin Purchases – Available to Braintree Residents Only - Only allowed 2 per year per address

Compost bins can be purchased at Treasurer/Collector’s Office, 1 JFK Memorial Drive, Braintree, MA 02184.  The Treasurer/Collector’s Office will process your request and the Compost Bin will be delivered to your residence.  

Beginning April 3, 2023 the Compost Bins will cost $35.
