Administration
This department is responsible for the care and maintenance of all public buildings, facilities and vehicles, unless otherwise delegated to another department by statute or ordinance.

The Engineering Division is engaged for the most part in planning, designing, administering and answering questions on the various Town-funded water, sewer, drainage and roadway improvement projects, on finding ways to get additional work done, and on improving efficiency through Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Global Positioning Systems (GPS), etc.

Water & Sewer
The Braintree Water and Sewer Department's primary mission is to maintain and improve the quality and reliability of the water and sewer systems in the Town of Braintree and to maintain the highest level of service at the lowest possible cost to the rate payers.

Town Cemeteries
The Town of Braintree has one active and three historical cemeteries in its care. The Plain Street Cemetery at 225 Plain Street (active) The Elm Street Cemetery on Elm Street across from the First Congregational Church at 12 Elm Street The Pond Street Cemetery adjacent to 74 Pond Street The Dyer Hill Cemetery at 200 Jefferson Street Town Cemeteries are maintained by staff from the Braintree DPW ground’s division who work with families and funeral directors to ensure that planning, burial services, and post burial care are handled with the utmost respect and attention to the wishes of the bereaved. Residents with inquiries about purchasing a plot or locations of a loved one’s grave can call the recreation department at 781-794-8901
